Obituary of Esther O'Neil

Mrs. Esther Lucy ONeil, 94, of Clinton, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born March 25, 1914, in West Winfield, the daughter of Harrison and Lucy Dye. Esther graduated from West Winfield schools and was married to Dennis ONeil on June 12, 1937. He died May 9, 1989. She worked as a nurses aid at the Utica State Hospital until her first child was born, she then became a stay at home mom and sold Stanley Home Products for over 60 years. She was a member of Home Bureau, Questers, Senior Citizens and several other organizations over the years. Esther is survived by two sons and their wives, Ronald and Mary Ann ONeil and Robert and Jackie ONeil; three daughters and their husbands, Sandy and John Williams, Sharleen Moulton and Denise and Ronald Moore. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister Hazel Smith; a brother Homer Dye and his wife Phyllis; two sisters-in-law, Carmita Dye and Hazel ONeil Ford and her husband Elmer; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her infant son Steven (Sharleens twin), her brothers, Raymond, Richard and her twin brother John Dye, and her granddaughter Wendy Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 9:15am Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Owens-Pavlot Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton and 10am at St. Marys Church. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Clinton. Friends are invited to call Monday from 4-7pm. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to Dr. Roger Moore, Sally OCallaghan, NP, Kelly and Bonnie for their kindness and compassion.
