Please share a memory of Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Irene M. Schreppel, 98, passed away October 27, 2023, with her son by her side.

She was born on June 25, 1925, in Waukon Township, Minnesota to Walter and Mae (Chloupek) Martin, and raised and educated in Gary, MN. After the death of her parents, she moved to New York to be with her brothers.  It was in NY Irene met Donald Schreppel, the love of her life. They were married on July 31, 1948 and shared 40 wonderful years of love and devotion until his passing on April 16, 1988.  Irene worked at Sears and Kmart for many years as a sales associate.  She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills.  Her family was her priority.  She enjoyed cooking for them and passing on her family recipes.  Each member of her family had an afghan lovingly made by Irene, especially for them.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Kathy Schreppel; her grandchildren, Sheila and Scott Henderson, Ryan and Denise Rogan Schreppel, and Amy Schreppel; her great-grandchildren, Abigail Rogan, Sydney Henderson, Rylee Lenning, Aubrey and Sean Schreppel; her many nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Mary and Ron Merritt.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald; her daughter Sharon Tindall; her parents; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Adele Martin, Larry and Angie Martin, James and Julie Martin and LeRoy Martin; her infant sister Mary Ann; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Geraldine Schreppel.

Private burial services will be held for the family.
