Obituary of Peter D. Robinson

Peter D. Robinson, 84, formerly of Clinton, passed away June 22, 2023, in Huntsville, Alabama with his wife Bonnie by his side. 

He was born July 2, 1938, in Clinton, NY, a son of the late Walter P. and Doris (Elwell) Robinson. Pete graduated from Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire and attended Norwich University.  He was married to Donna Ziegler Robinson with whom he had his four children.  In September of 1998 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Phillips.  They enjoyed traveling and shared many adventures together.  Pete retired after 47 years as a Tractor Trailor Driver with the Teamsters Union, working for Union Carbide, Mobil Oil and UPS.  He had over 5 million miles in safe driving and won several of the National Truck Rodeo awards. 

He is survived by his devoted wife Bonnie; his four children, Sherry Robinson and Phil Conley, Michael Robinson, Susan and Shawn Gaffney, and Patrick and Gail Robinson; grandchildren, Samantha Gaffney and Jordan Robinson; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Robinson.  He is also survived by his sister Linda and Robert Sokolowski; a cousin Donald and Sandra Patterson; and his many in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom he was very close.  He was predeceased by his parents. 

All are invited to call from 10am-11am Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton.  A Celebration of Peter’s Life will be at 11am at the funeral home.  He will be buried at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
