Mary Ondarcho Hillage, "Gram", 91, of New Street, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Katherine Luther Home.She was born in Clinton on December 5, 1917, a daughter of John and Sophie Trybulski Ondarcho and graduated from Clinton High School. On November 25, 1939 she married Benjamin Hillage. Mr. Hillage died July 27, 1974. She was employed at Sears Roebuck for 25 years and was a devoted member of St. Mary's Church. She loved to bake for friends and neighbors and donated her goods to the church bake sales. She also enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.She is survived by four children, Ben Jr (Mary Jane), "Hap" (Joanne), Richard (Lou Ann) and Evelyn Micciche; 13 grandchildren, John, Ben III, Richard, Heather, "Hap Jr", Holly and Pam Hillage, Kim Powell, Cindy Kobler, Suzanne Kells, Brenda Cox, Teresa Reese and Mary Roy; 13 great-grandchildren, Krystal, Stephen, Jennifer, Bradley, Austin, Katlyn, Jordan, Taylor, Trevor, Jayden, Aidan, Kyla and Benjamin; one great-great-grandson, William; two sisters, Margaret (Jerome) Lalonde and Elizabeth Kline and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, two brothers, Charles and Francis and three sisters, Katherine, Rose and Anna.Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday, December 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Friday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton.In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mary's name to St. Mary's Church, Clinton, Rescue Mission of Utica or Stevens Swan Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Dr. Kandiah for his kindness and compassion during Mom's illness, to Aleen Barron and Mary Ann Prokop for their support during this difficult time and to the nurses and staff in the Saul unit at the Katherine Luther Home.
