Obituary of Winifred Clark

Winifred H. Clark, 89, passed away April 30, 2018 at Lutheran Care with her family by her side.

She was born in Lyons Falls, NY, on June 30, 1928, a daughter of the late Gordon and Rosalie (Samson) Hume.  Winnie graduated from Utica Free Academy.  On June 7, 1952, she was united in marriage to Raymond E. Clark.  They shared 58 years together, until his death in 2010.  Winnie was a farmer most of her life, operating Clover Hill Farm with her husband for 50 years.   She worked at General Electric and also helped at the family business, C&H Plastics.  She was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church, loved animals and enjoyed painting.  Winnie enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with her family at their camp on the St. Lawrence River.

She is survived by her three sons, a daughter and their spouses, William and Lisa Clark, Daniel and Beth Clark, Catherine and John Nester Jr., and James Clark, all of Clinton; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew and Emma Clark, Jessica Nester (Matt Bader) and Valerie (Jack) Lighthall; two great-granddaughters, Madison Bader and Hailee Ray Lighthall; her sister Marjorie Bartolomie of Utica; sister-in-law Sue Levesque of Lyons Falls; and her nieces and nephews, Anne Green, Cynthia LaFave, Michael LaFave, John LaFave, Josh Bartolomie and Jenny Bartolomie.  She was predeceased by her husband; a sister Kathleen Crosby; a brother Donald Hume; and nephew Tom LaFave.

All are invited to call from 5-7pm on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton.  A Memorial Service will follow at 7pm.  Her burial will be at 10am Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Crown Hill Memorial Park.  Please consider donations to Kirkland Town Library or Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
