Esther Therese Burnham, 84, a longtime Utica-area resident, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, September 16, 2016. Born in Washington, DC on December 17, 1931, she was a daughter of the late James and Esther (Bradley) Mylott. A graduate of Lowell (MA) High School, Esther attended Nashua (NH) Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1954. On October 1, 1955, Esther married Richard F. Burnham, in Bradford, MA. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. Esther loved her work as a Hospice Nurse and worked previously at Faxton Hospital in Utica. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Cathleen and William Schlager of Doylestown, PA; Jim Burnham of Deansboro; Mark and Patricia Burnham of Bergenfield, NJ; and Peter Burnham of Utica; as well as eight grandchildren, Corey and Matthew Schlager; Bennett and Haley Burnham; Eli and Charlotte Burnham; and Madison and Alex Burnham. Also Carla Burnham, mother of Madison and Alex; her three sisters, Mary, Cathy, and Margaret, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard, and her brother, James. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 4 to 6 pm at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton.
