Fredericka Hawkins Diable, 81, of New Hartford, passed away at home on Sunday, September 11, 2016. She was born in Utica on October 10, 1934, a daughter of the late Frederick and Julia (Abbott) Barkett. She graduated from Westmoreland Central School and earned a degree as a certified paralegal from Utica College of Syracuse University. Freddie worked at Westmoreland Central School and Whitney Enterprises for many years. She appears in "Who's Who in American Women" and "Who's Who in Business & Finance". She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Mitchell and Mary Ann Hawkins of Clinton and Christopher and Luisa Hawkins of Deansboro; seven grandchildren Sara and Tony Butch, Erica and Phil Schoff, Amanda Hawkins, Nicole and Devin Collver, Chivon and Danillo Winter, Samantha Hawkins and Elaina Hawkins; three great-grandchildren, Emilia Winter, Anthony Butch and Beckham Collver; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Michelle and Robert Jones and Georgia and Howard Abbuhl; and her longtime friend and companion, Joe Chapadeau; and special friend Kimberly Ocuto of Rome. She was predeceased by her daughter Paula Hawkins and her former husband Paul Hawkins. Funeral Services will be held at 10am Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. All are invited to call Wednesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Hospice & Palliative Care as a show of appreciation for the wonderful care given to Freddie.
