Nancy H. Ellis, 66, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Harding Nursing Home. She was born September 27, 1949 in Utica, a daughter of the late Donald and Jennie Watson Hinman. On September 12, 1998 she was united in marriage to G. Joseph Ellis. The lived in Florida for many years before moving back to Clinton. Nancy worked in food service at Hamilton College for many years. Nancy is survived by her loving husband Joe Ellis of Clinton; her two sons Earl John and Brenda Clipston of Clayton, NC and Wayne Clipston and Tammy Jannone of Clinton; two grandchildren, Alexander John Prichard and Amanda Clipston; great-grandson Demonte Clipston; two sisters, a brother and their spouses, Sheila and Ernest "Skip" Staelens of Oriskany Falls, Judy and Dennis Hilts of Brookfield and Donald and Pat Hinman of Waterville; several nieces and nephews and her dog Beauty. She was also predeceased by her brother Leo Hinman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at St. Mary's Church in Clinton with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. All are invited to call Tuesday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Please omit flowers and donate in Nancy's memory to National Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association, COCVAC or Clinton Fire Department.
