Obituary of Marilyn J Merriman

Marilyn J Merriman, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. Born in Rome, NY on October 5, 1934, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Mabb) LaGasse. She was educated locally and worked for several years at Holland Farms and Faxton Hospital. She currently served as Deputy Clerk for the Town of Westmoreland. Marilyn loved the time she spent at her camp on Canadarago Lake, family card games and trips to Uncle Rays. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Eugene, a blessed union of 53 years. She devoted her life to taking care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her. Marilyn is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Peter Barber of Westmoreland, Michele and Gene Barber of Rome, Donna and Joe Klis of Rome; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Anne Merriman of Cazenovia and William and Pamela Merriman of Vernon; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Roberts (Bob) Merriman and wife Concordia and Mack Smith of Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Merriman of Westmoreland and Alice LaGasse of Camden. She was predeceased by her sister, Beverly Smith of Ohio; three brothers, Robert and Richard LaGasse of Rome and Donald LaGasse of Florida. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:30 at Owens-Pavlot Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College Street, Clinton. Friends are invited to call Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Westmoreland.
