William J. Crawford, Sr., 82, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
He was born on July 3, 1934, in Kirkland, a son of the late Earl and Celia Hinman Crawford. He was married to Constance O'Donnell on September 17, 1955, a union of love and devotion, until her death on October 2, 2000. Bill worked for Univac and retired from Conrail after many years as a signalman. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Marcy and the N. Utica Senior Center. He loved trains and enjoyed watching hockey. In his later years, he enjoyed bus trips to dance with Fritz's Polka Band.
He is survived by his daughter Carol Ingo of Utica; his son William J. Crawford Jr of Utica and Kim Crawford of Utica; four grandchildren, Carla and Joe Sovare of Westmoreland, Lt. Col. Fred Ingo and wife Rika of New Orleans, Chloe Crawford of Herkimer and Dylan Crawford of Syracuse; eight great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Cristian, David and Steven Sovare, Cordelia, Cecilia and Cayce Ingo and Rylee Crawford; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend Darlene Irish. He was predeceased by his wife, Connie; his brothers, Floyd, Lyle, Earl, Paul, Karl and Phillip and a sister Vivian Dousharm.
All are invited to call Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2-4pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. A Celebration of Bill's life will be at 4pm on Sunday. His burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton.
